Interior decor
Just a few years ago, if you wanted to buy interior decor, you went
to the store and got what you wanted. Sure, it took a bit of time to
do, but you got what you wanted.
Now, people who try to buy this décor often do so online. For
the most part, people who shop online do so for the purpose of convenience.
And the fact of the matter is that it usually is convenient and safe.
But, if you are not careful, you potentially could fall prey to a scam.
Some of the biggest complaints that the Federal Trade Commisson receives
relative to Internet fraud are:
• All the important information about an item was not disclosed
previous to sale.
• Merchandise sent is not what was advertised.
• Merchandise is not delivered in a timely manner.
• Failure to send merchandise
One of the tricks that some people play on others who are shopping
at home décor online stores is called “second chance offers.”
With “second chance offers,” what most often happens is
that a seller approaches another person who has bid on a certain kind
of item, but turned out not to be the highest bidder. The seller tells
the person that they can get the interior décor for a less expensive
price. The seller then links the bidder to a different site than the
one he started out on.
The problem arises when you go to the other site because it has not
been set up with the same security measures. In fact, it is set up to
scam you out of your money. That is the whole reason why it operates.
It is not necessarily a bad idea to purchase interior décor from
stores online, but you should be cautious.
